This basic course is for service users looking to strengthen their recovery using the 12 Step program. It is designed in a simple and user-friendly format to help the individual apply the principles of recovery to their daily life. You can choose to progress in a step- wise manner or skip ahead to one of the later lessons. Participants will have the opportunity to conceptualise addiction within the twelve step framework, explore key terms such as 'self-will', 'higher power' and 'spiritual experience/awakening'. They will also learn about the concepts of humility, resentments, and personal inventory; and the role they play in strengthening a recovery program and review the possible road blocks to recovery. A short quiz at the end helps participants to self-assess their learning.
